Kenstar launches water heater campaign with Rajkummar Rao and Patralekha

Actors and real-life couple Rajkummar Rao and Patralekha trade banter in Kenstar's new television commercial, which pairs a fast-heating message with claims about durability and safety. The water heater campaign is titled "Heats Fast, Make It Last."

A returning brand promise

The commercial also promotes installation assistance and after-sales support. Kenstar CEO Sunil Jain said consumers want appliances that offer convenience, reliability and lasting value, as well as designs that complement their homes. He described timely installation and dependable service as part of the company's responsibility.

Jain said the campaign presents that commitment "in a warm and relatable way". He added: "With our extensive water heater range and warranties of up to 7 years, we aim to make every home warmer and every customer experience more reassuring."

Both the actors and the underlying message have appeared in earlier Kenstar advertising. Rao and Patralekha, the company's brand ambassadors, previously starred in its March 2026 campaign for 5-star BEE-rated air coolers.

The October 2026 commercial also returns to a promise used for Kenstar's September 2025 water heater launch: "Heats Fast, Makes It Last." That earlier launch had a different campaign tagline, "Bath Ban Jaye," and addressed what the brand called the "half bath" problem.

Products and performance claims

Kenstar sells storage, instant and gas water heaters, along with immersion rod models. SwirlHeat, a seven-level safety shield and high-density PUF insulation are available on select models; the portfolio also includes options with 5-star BEE ratings and 8-bar pressure compatibility.

In its September 2025 launch announcement, Kenstar claimed that SwirlHeat Technology provides 20% more hot water output, while high-density PUF insulation keeps water warm 10% longer. It also said German Blue Sapphire Technology extends product life by 40%.

That launch covered capacities from 3 to 100 liters. Kenstar described the 7-Level Safety Shield as including thermal cut-out protection, an IPX4 splash-proof design and multi-functional valves, and cited a seven-year tank warranty.

For the current range, warranties extend to as much as seven years on select water heaters. Design options include matte finishes, chrome accents and compact forms.

Kenstar's growth targets

Kenstar, owned by Ken Lifestyles, has set a goal of becoming one of India's top five national water heater players within three years. A January 2026 BW Businessworld profile reported that the company estimated the category at around Rs 3,500 crore.

The same profile put Kenstar's turnover at approximately Rs 1,000 crore and outlined its target of reaching Rs 3,000 crore over three to four years.

India's water heater market

TechSci Research estimates that India's water heater market was worth $358.13 million in 2025 and projects it will reach $541.69 million by 2031. Its forecast puts the compound annual growth rate at 7.14% for 2026 through 2031.

According to the research firm, electric water heaters represented about 85% of the market in 2025. West India held the largest regional share, at roughly 32%, while North India is expected to record the fastest growth.
