Search for Missing Texas Mother Continues in Louisiana Amid Unconfirmed DNA Report

Relatives and volunteers are searching in and around Louisiana's Iberville Parish for Christian Munn-Holiday, a 22-year-old mother from Katy, Texas, missing since Sept. 30. A report that DNA linked a recovered wig to her remains unconfirmed by Louisian...

Family and volunteers search the area

The search has brought together community volunteers, relatives and organized search groups. The United Cajun Navy joined the Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office in the Whiskey Bay area, where witnesses reported last seeing Munn-Holiday.

Her father, Robert Munn, has been checking woods, waterways and abandoned buildings. "I'm looking in woods, I'm looking in water," Munn said. "I'm kicking in abandoned buildings, houses, doors, looking for my child, not knowing if I'm gonna find her dead or alive. That's a terrible feeling."

Other community members have organized searches independently to support the family. Volunteer Debbie Bernard said being a mother herself prompted her to help. "Her momma needs answers and, you know, as for me, I have three daughters," Bernard said. "And so that's why I'm here, because if anything happened to my daughters, then I would want everybody looking for my my child."

Police have not confirmed reported DNA link

WAFB reported on Oct. 27, 2026, that DNA testing connected Munn-Holiday to a wig recovered several weeks earlier near the area where she was reported missing. The station attributed the information to unnamed sources.

Louisiana State Police declined to verify the report or describe the evidence collected. Spokesman Trooper Shelby Mayfield said, "To protect the integrity of the investigation, we cannot confirm or discuss specific evidence or investigative findings at this time."

Confirmation of a DNA match would mark a significant development in a case with few publicly released updates.

Crash preceded the disappearance

Munn-Holiday disappeared on Sept. 30, 2026, following a two-vehicle collision on the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge. The crash occurred on eastbound Interstate 10 near mile marker 128 in Iberville Parish. State police believe she drove one of the vehicles and then walked away from the scene.

Her gray BMW was found abandoned on the bridge. The previous day, she had left her 4-year-old son with her parents in Katy.

On Oct. 23, authorities arrested Sandrea Davis, 21, on a charge of reckless operation with accident. Davis is accused of driving the vehicle that struck Munn-Holiday's car. Investigators said Davis was speeding and that her speed likely caused the collision.

Davis was held in the Iberville Parish Jail. Authorities have said the arrest concerns the traffic crash, not Munn-Holiday's disappearance.

Relatives seek a broader investigation

By mid-October, the family was offering $20,000 for Munn-Holiday's safe return and asking authorities to investigate a possible abduction rather than handle the case solely as a missing-person investigation. Relatives also requested FBI involvement. A gas station in Lafayette, Louisiana, was among the last locations where her cellphone pinged.

The family also launched a GoFundMe with permission from her parents, Lareshia and Robert Munn. The appeal says they need $3,000 for a private investigator, travel and lodging between Texas and Louisiana, and related search expenses.
